The Denby Dale Centre

Over the last 3 years DDCP has worked with The Denby Dale Centre to try to realise the aim of providing a new community hub and library service for the village.  Due to recent and disappointing news on funding sources, we have had to rule out the option of attempting to build a 2-storey building, as planned to date.  Instead, we are hoping to erect a smaller, one-storey building on the site of the existing library.

This means there will be insufficient space to accommodate The DDC, so we can no longer hope to partner with them.

We would like to wish The Denby Dale Centre every success for the future and look forward to co-operating alongside them in our village in future.

The Denby Dale Centre is a well-established local community and charity organisation.  It already provides a hub for community action in rural south Kirklees, especially in the development of much-needed social support and community transport for our local people. Its activities are currently based in our village’s Springfield Mill shops complex.
